POSITION TITLE: MA Educational Therapy Program Director and Associate Professor of Educational Therapy

Position: Non-Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor

Reports to: Dean, School of Education

Status: Full-time, 12-Month

Start Date: May 16, 2023


Notre Dame de Namur University is seeking applicants for the position of Program Director and Associate Professor of the Master of Arts in Educational Therapy Program housed in the NDNU School of Education. The Educational Therapy Program Director is a faculty member who leads all aspects of the Master's Program, including a Certificate in Educational Therapy issued by the Association of Educational Therapists. This is a 32-unit (12-month) contract position.


RESPONSIBILITIES
(Include, but not limited to):

  • Knows and abides by the Association of Educational Therapists (AET) training requirements.
  • Keeps abreast of trends in the Educational Therapy field to work with faculty to update existing courses and propose new ones.
  • Fulfills faculty responsibilities.
  • Recruit, admit, and advise students throughout the program, including, but not limited to, creating program plans for each student, determining when/where the student will perform their practicum, reviewing student transcripts for preconditions, transfer of units, substitutions, and waivers, and assist graduates in their applications for membership in the Association of Education Therapy.
  • Recruits, coordinates, supports, provides professional development, and meets regularly with Part-time faculty serving as course instructors and intern supervisors.
  • Identifies and implements MOUs with schools, agencies, and non-profits to identify and secure placements for interns with qualified AET-certified supervisors.
  • Coordinates assignments of interns in intern placements and assigns intern supervisors.
  • Consults with the Dean of Program budget.
  • Collaborate with the School of Education and Gellert Library to identify and order materials, including assessment instruments, to be housed in the school and/or Library.
  • Attend University and School of Education meetings and events, as appropriate.
  • Represents the NDNU Educational Therapy program regionally and nationally.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Education Therapy, Education, or Special Education
  • Professional Member of the Association of Educational Therapists in good standing and willing to become Board Certified Educational Therapist (BCET).
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting/admitting, advising, and teaching a diverse population of traditional and non-traditional adult students.
  • Demonstrated experience working with faculty to design, collect, analyze, and use data to assess program effectiveness, then identify and implement program improvement(s), including revision of curriculum, course syllabi, and program assessments.
  • Ability to attend meetings/recruitment sessions/etc. during the day and evenings.
  • Experience working with students of diverse populations, including English language learners, international students, traditional and non-traditional age students, including working adults.
  • Compatibility with the mission and vision of the University and School of Education philosophy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, community partners, faculty, and staff.


Salary Range:
Classification and salary scale placement will be based on years of teaching experience and considered at the time of hire.

  • Assistant Professor: $86,892 - $89,498
  • Associate Professor: $90,821 - $102,221
