Impact and Opportunity:

This position is responsible for managing any inspection related projects to the company's construction phase services. Ensures that the inspection is completed according to contract protocols, standards, specifications, and regulations. Recommends corrective action when problems are detected. Oversees documentation and reporting regarding the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong background in reviewing, and approving construction submittals, shop drawings, and other pertinent items submitted by a General Contractor in reference to construction documents produced by licensed professional Architects and Engineers.
  • Uses various computer software programs to document observations and creates inspection reports.
  • Continuously monitors work of team to ensure timely completion of project. Excellent report writing and accurate quantity tracking ability
  • Interacts with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, government agency representatives, and other parties on a regular basis.
  • Communicates information, responds to inquiries, and helps resolve field issues to ensure successful completion of projects.
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining required certifications.
  • Utilizes technical references appropriately.
  • Serves as a Design Team liaison with construction project management, reporting on progress, and delays. Proactively works to resolve any issues that may impede the project delivery.
  • Familiarity with construction observation reporting and procedures
  • Ability to manage an internal team of construction observation staff members to assure all contracts are appropriately supported during the construction phase.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience with construction inspection. Preferred fifteen (15+) years’ experience.
  • Licensure: 10-hour OSHA Construction Certificate or ability to obtain

  • Must be able to interact with clients, project team, vendors, and other external groups in a professional manner.
  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task while working independently.
  • Self-driven desire to learn, grow, innovate and teach others
