High-end private stable is seeking a skilled person with a genuine enthusiasm to be a professional groom at the top-level of equestrian sport. Join an experienced staff to deliver a stress-free, fun experience for two owners who have been members of the USA Team for Combined Driving. With well-trained and mannered KWPN horses, they enjoy competing in carriage driving shows, combined driving and long-distance antique coaching drives - in North America, the UK and Europe. Carriage driving experience is not required. You just need good horse sense, previous work experience as a groom and a true horse passion. This job suits the person who likes working on a winning team, with hands-on co-workers who know what they’re doing, days that run efficiently, and where your willingness is greatly appreciated. This job requires a knowledgeable, detail-oriented person to share the workload in delivering a high-level of horse care and organization. Along with grooming, harnessing and tacking-up, you will help maintain these equine athletes through a fitness program, applying therapeutic devices and monitoring soundness. If you’re a competent rider, you’ll hack horses.
Stall, facility and equipment cleaning are part of the job but the days don’t drag on. Hours are 7am-5pm, 6 days a week, with a 1 hour lunch each day. You must be available on weekends and holidays. Hours differ when we’re at an event. Based in Kentucky and Florida, the job requires you to travel between locations for extended periods of time. The beautiful facilities are large, modern, organized and easy to work out of. There are no clients or client horses. This is a salaried position with compensation based on your experience.
