Logistics Specialist Warehouse Operations Job at Reliable Heating & Air
Summary
The position of Warehouse Worker is responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, and handling of materials.
Essential Functions
- Receive all material coming into the building by vendors, shipping companies, couriers, or runners accurately and promptly.
- Examine incoming shipments to verify the quantity and condition of materials received. Return or reject damaged items. Check merchandise against the packing list description and appropriately report /record any discrepancies.
- Accurately places materials on shelves, in racks or other designated storage areas in a safe and orderly manner following all safety protocols.
- Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Pack and arrange materials from job pull list for all daily jobs.
- Ensures warehouse equipment is maintained on a regular basis.
- Safely operate all the necessary equipment in the work area.
- Accurately identify and count stock materials for lists or inventories.
- Maintain warehouse area for cleanliness {trash pick- up and removal, sweeping, dusting, and organizing materials on the shelves}.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Physical Strength: Walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, crawling, stooping, reaching (including overhead), climbing ladders/stairs and lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis- Environment: Working both outdoors in all weather and indoors in varying temperatures including non-climate-controlled areas occasionally with extreme temperatures.
- Schedule: Must be available to work nights and weekends, on a rotating basis, to service the needs of our installation crews and customers.
- Visual Abilities: Must be able to read handwriting, type or printed text and correctly differentiate between colors. Hearing Abilities: Must be able to clearly hear voices and machinery operating in the work area.
- Must be proficient in the use of smart phones, tablets, and other mobile devices.
- 1 year or more experience operating a forklift.
- Basic computer skills are necessary
