Travel: Monthly travel to warehouses in Columbus, OH and Nashville, TN required


Position Overview

Tuckernuck is looking for a Logistics Manager to manage the relationships with our 3PL partners and ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of inventory in and out of the business. The ideal Logistics Manager is highly motivated, organized, a self-starter, and willing to immerse themselves in the operations of a rapidly growing ecommerce company. This role is integral to the Operations Department and will work closely with Planning, Finance, Logistics, and Buying to ensure that service level agreements and customer expectations are met.


Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage our relationship with our two 3PLs; Optoro (Reverse Logistics) and Whiplash (Forward Logistics)
  • Ensure both 3PLs have the resources to exceed KPIs. Provide monthly, weekly, daily inbound and outbound forecasts as needed. Track and communicate KPIs and implement programs for improvement.
  • Monitor and measure SLAs at both 3PLs in an effort to ensure all contractual metrics for outbound processing and inventory control are consistently met or exceeded. Work closely with Tuckenuck’s Finance Department to issue chargebacks or credits as needed.
  • Conduct monthly visits to Whiplash (Columbus, OH) and Optoro (Nashivlle, TN) to ensure everything is running smoothly.
  • Supporting the Planning, Buying, Operations, and Finance teams with relevant stock reports to assist with space planning initiatives and to ensure full visibility of on-hand inventory.
  • Manage supply levels to ensure 3PLs have seasonal and year-round supplies readily available.
  • Develop, update, and maintain standard operating procedures for both 3PLs.
  • In collaboration with our Sr. Manager of Customer Experience, manage any customer-facing issues that may arise.
  • Provide support to the Customer Experience team by assisting with carrier delays or errors, lodging investigations with carriers in case of loss, tracking and reconciling lost shipments, and ensuring returns terms and conditions are observed.
  • Troubleshoot quality issues and manage inventory returns, damages and return-to-stock items

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in an operations or customer service role, ideally in the apparel industry
  • 1-2 years of experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is a plus
  • Demonstrated affinity for technology and a keen interest in problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated understanding of freight expense and carrier selection a plus.
  • Natural problem-solver who contributes to a collaborative work environment that encourages creative thinking and innovation.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within the fashion e-commerce industry
  • Strong knowledge of shipping, logistics and supply chain management
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated history in managing complex projects, with an acute attention to quality
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and well versed in technical project management
  • Passionate about technology and actively look at emerging trends that can enhance the experiences will deliver in the future
  • Experience guiding cross-functional teams, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all seniority levels.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Must be able to grow and cultivate strong working relationships with key vendors in order to help scale the business.
  • Ability to combine an analytical mindset, creativity, and an entrepreneurial drive to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and implement them effectively.
  • A great level of desire to teach, coach, and develop others.
  • Be an active team player and believe that “no task is too small” for the benefit of the greater good.
