Job Summary:
We are hiring two energetic and organized Logistics Assistants to help coordinate the logistical needs of our sixteen camp programs. Part of this logistical need will be driving a 9’ Sprinter van to and from our three oldest running camp programs in Prospect Park and to other regional camps in the Tri-State area. The Logistics Assistant will be assisting our Regional Logistic Managers in organizing camp supplies and materials, while tracking the movement, distribution, and storage of them on a national scale.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with the packing and shipping of in-season camp materials as requested on a weekly basis June-Aug
  • Drive 9’ Sprinter Van to/from Prospect Park Villa and assist in loading/unloading of camp materials on a daily basis
  • Execute any emergency materials deliveries to camps in the Tri-State area via 9’ sprinter van
  • Help create End of Season Camp Inventory Reports
  • Helps execute inbound and outbound deliveries for everything from camp supplies to company merchandise
  • Assist with general upkeep of supply-chain management.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of HQ storage facility
  • Identify materials that need to be ordered, replaced, fixed, or rented
  • Follow and implement all program safety regulations and emergency procedures set forth by Plato Learning

What abilities are we looking for?

  • Has a valid driver’s license; comfortable driving a 9 foot Sprinter Van
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Experience with reporting databases and systems on Google Suites
  • Comfortable and experienced with data analysis: can translate numbers into a story.
  • Flexible and able to work well in a physically engaging, fast-paced environment both indoors and outdoors during Summer
  • Team-Player and independent worker who is comfortable with self-managed tasks.
  • Able to lift 25-50 lbs of camp materials without injury
  • Pass Federal Background Checks, including a Driver Record Check
  • Experience in business operations, administration or management, and/or event planning preferred.
  • Excited about working with creative people who serve youth in a play-based learning environment.

Hours.

  • Month of April, 30 hours per week.
  • Start of May-End of August- 40 hours per week.
  • Logistics Team does not work on June 19th or July 4th, but will report to work the 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th

Shift Structure

This role will cover the following shifts over the course of a given week. We are looking for candidates capable of maintaining either of the following schedules on alternating days:

  • Morning - 6a-2p - is responsible for “opening” camp, driving our sprinter van to site and preparing for the day of programming. Will finish their day in the office and coordinate handoff of tasks before leaving.
  • Afternoon - 10a-6p - is responsible for “closing” camp, will begin their day in the office and transition to our campsites, delivering the van back to the lot at the end of their shift, giving a final update to Morning assistant before leaving.
