SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

It is the responsibility of the Loan Closing Compliance Manager to lead a geographically dispersed team of highly skilled, highly motived team members to ensure timely and accurate compliance with the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA) regulatory requirements for consumer and commercial loans. The Loan Closing Compliance Manager is responsible for the overall supervision and performance of the Loan Compliance Department, including performance reviews, salary recommendations, procedure oversight, monitoring and reporting of team performance as it relates to meeting SLAs and accuracy goals and any strategic initiatives related to HMDA, CRA or FDPA that impact the Loan Compliance Team. The Loan Closing Compliance Manager position is remote. Managed employees may be in any state within the Bank footprint and are also remote workers.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure compliance and enforcement of all Bank, State, Federal, and regulatory policies as it relates to HMDA, CRA and FDPA as agreed to with the Enterprise Compliance Team for consumer and commercial loans.
  • Maintain satisfactory regulatory audits, quarterly Enterprise Compliance audits and internal monitoring audits.
  • Responsible for the Loan Compliance Department’s consistent execution of process and procedures regarding the overall process and related tasks as it pertains to capturing, reviewing and reporting of HMDA, CRA and FDPA information for consumer and commercial loans as agreed to with Enterprise Compliance.
  • Manage expenses to budget.
  • Provide oversight of workload to ensure information is provided to Enterprise Compliance accurately and timely.
  • Ensure department procedures are updated no less than annually and approved by Enterprise Compliance on an annual basis.
  • Ensure regular performance reviews are performed for managed team members and their direct reports and that performance issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Lead staff meetings to communicate industry and company changes to maintain team unity and comprehension.
  • Partner with multiple lines of business for problem resolution to ensure issues are addressed timely to meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Accounting) or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Experience: Managerial experience of five or more years in a compliance related capacity (preferably related to HMDA, CRA and/or FDPA) is required. Working knowledge of consumer and commercial loans is also required.
  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Strong knowledge of HDMA, CRA and FDPA regulations, working knowledge of consumer and commercial loans, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of Fiserv, nCino, and LaserPro preferred. Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager designation is a plus.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required annual compliance training; New Employee Orientation; Training related to applicable regulatory changes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information using dual monitors in a paperless environment. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered. Travel may be required to attend meetings as needed.
