At Smokey Bones, we specialize in three things: good food, good drinks, and good times. We are a bar and fire grill, but not necessarily in that order. We are grill masters who respect the power of the open flame. We like simple, yet flavorful recipes and believe marinating is not to be taken lightly. We know medium-rare isn’t the only way to cook a steak, but believe it should be. We believe pork should be slow smoked and pulled often. Slow, as in 11 hours over hickory logs every night, and often, as in every day at every restaurant. We know it’s our bartenders who make our drinks great, not the liquor. Although the liquor doesn’t hurt. We think beer should be ice cold and consumed regularly. We know our servers bring much more than food to the table. We are big fans of sports, loud music, and surprises. And we believe in laughing often, especially at ourselves.

Line Cook Job Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
  • Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
  • Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
  • Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
  • Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.

[Work Hours & Benefits] Hours range from AM shifts anywhere from 9AM-5PM and Late night shifts range from 4:30PM-1:30AM. There are mid shifts for line which range anywhere from 3-4PM/10-11PM. Here at Smokey Bones we understand what it's like to have to work and also live a normal life, so scheduling is very flexible. We'll work with you.

Holiday pay is available and bonuses are a regularity, especially with high performance! All employees also receive a 50 percent discount in house!

Line Cook Qualifications/Skills:

  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Follows directions and instructions

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
  • Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred
  • Experience with various cooking methods and procedures
  • Familiar with industry best practices
