Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversee company operations. Meet regularly with manufacturing, purchasing, inside sales, shipping, and cremation departments to discuss inventory, orders, backorders, and roadblocks. Review monthly financial statements and investigate accounts that have large discrepancies from the prior year.

License Agreement - Creation

  • Involved in writing the agreement and negotiating the agreement with WMA.

License Agreement – Preparation and distribution

  • Update master Exhibits contained in the Agreement
  • Verify all Licensee company names, addresses, state of incorporation, territories, plant locations, and point of contact for licenses are accurately recorded in the database to be uploaded to each individual Agreement.
  • Verify all Licensee Customer Preference accounts are accurately recorded.
  • Update each individual Licensees Schedule G to show their required minimum sales.
  • Verify the list of distributors and sub-licensees are accurate.
  • When the License Agreement is finalized, merge all data above into each individual Agreement and save as individual word documents.
  • Arrange for an outside printer to print two copies of all Agreements and Exhibits.
  • Assemble Agreements and Exhibits and prepare mailing.

Point person for interpreting and enforcing the License Agreement.

Point person for customer preference cases.

Analyze Licensee sales reports

  • Throughout the year review Licensee sales interment reporting for reasonableness.
  • Annually update spreadsheets with total Wilbert interment by Licensee and calculate the three-month rolling average and compliance with minimum sales.
  • Share results with WMA so they can invoice their annual dues.
  • Update each Licensee’s Exhibit G and mail out.
  • If Licensee fails to meet their minimum sales number, then find out why.

Periodically review all Licensee employee contacts and determine which distribution lists they should be included on.

Oversee Wilbert’s First Responders Program.

  • Review and sign letters to First Responder families who received a burial vault or cremation product from Wilbert.

Hold annual price adjustment meeting in July. Review the current cost and expected cost for each stock code. Set the sales price based upon the gross profit for each stock code. Review final price increases and calculate the effect on revenues and gross profit.

Annually (or more frequently if we have a mid-year price increase) update and review the burial vault and urn vault proformas.

Draft the annual price adjustment letter and email the price list and proformas to the appropriate personnel at each Licensee location.

Work with Licensees who acquire a competitor to convert the competitive vaults to Wilbert vaults. Explain the conversion program, create a tracking schedule, and submit a check request for 70% of the converted sales.

Write articles for the monthly eNews.

Have a monthly phone call with the President of the WMA to discuss matters important to the Licensee network. Keep line of communication open between WFSI and the WMA.

Participate on the communications team. Proof all correspondence prior to distribution

Serve as a Wilbert Foundation Trustee

  • Secretary for the Wilbert Foundation board. Responsible for drafting minutes at meetings.
  • Review monthly financial statement prior to distribution to the balance of the board. Maintain four to five sub-schedules to verify accuracy of account information.
  • Annually draft Foundation thank you card to be sent to Licensees making a holiday donation. Work with Marty Cox of Legacy to request number of cards to be printed for each Licensee donor to send to their customers.

Work with Scott Slavick, IP attorney, to apply for and renew Wilbert trademarks. Review monthly legal invoices to approve charges.

Work with Jim Katz, patent attorney, on new patent applications or if questions arise on existing patents.

SingleSource

  • Work to ensure all products we sell have appropriate attributes and pictures for online ordering.
  • Participate in meetings concerning online ordering by all Licensees.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

  • Document customer complaints, Licensee ownership changes, and other important information in CRM.
  • Work with Susan Barry to keep Licensee employee contacts up to date.
  • Tag specific Licensees to be included on price list email list or generic obit list.

Attend and actively participate at the WMA annual meeting and mid-term meeting.

Prepare a presentation for the meetings.

Other duties as assigned.

Additional Activities:

Study and gain an in-depth knowledge of the License Agreement. Participate in the negotiations with WMA to develop a new Agreement for 2025.

Assist in the rollout and adoption of SingleSource, memorial monuments, and the driver app.
