LVN SCRIBE REQUIREMENTS: 1.) High School Diploma or GED preferred 2.) Current Licensed Vocational Nurse licensure in good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing 3.) One (1) year of nursing/scribe experience preferred 4.) CPR

MEDICAL ASSISTANT SCRIBE REQUIREMENTS: 1.) High School Diploma or GED preferred 2.) Current Medical Assistant Certification with a national registry or ability to obtain within a year of hire is required. 3.) One (1) year of medical assisting/clinical experience is preferred. 4.) CPR

Must have current licensure/certifications upon hire. New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required Basic Life Support (CPR, ACLS, PALS, BLS, and/or any other life support certifications required for the job).

SUMMARY: The scribe assumes responsibilities for clerical support of WHC Providers. This may include but is not limited to the following functions: 1.) assist in the admission and dismissal process; 2.) maintain patient records; 3.) maintain accurate communications: coordinates unit communication with other departments in customer-friendly and safe atmosphere; 4.) transcribe physician orders; 5.) maintain an efficient workstation 6). Participates in the clinic process by assisting the Provider through communication, documentation, and maintenance of patient records 7.) other job-related duties as assigned. All functions are carried out according to hospital policy, hospital mission statement, and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing. Positive friendly attitude and good communication skills are a must.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis to 42”, able to lift 10-20 pounds daily, able to lift 50-80 occasionally.
REPORT RELATIONSHIP: Reports to the Director and Team Lead Manager, WHC

OSHA TASK CATEGORY TWO: There is an occasional risk of exposure to mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashed during the performance of the job. Universal precautions must be observed, and protective devices worn by the employee when performing a task that is likely to cause exposure.
