Healthcare Recruiters is looking for a Psychiatrist for full-time on-site work with kids and adults at our client’s clinics in Queensbury and Plattsburgh, NY.

Our client is a fast growing, progressive, not-for-profit organization founded in 1874 committed to transforming care and enriching the lives of the people they service and their community. This organization provides whole person care by integrating physical health with a comprehensive range of mental health and substance use disorder services to vulnerable individuals.

This adult psychiatrist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. This psychiatrist will conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results. Assigned clinical programs may include, and are not limited to, outpatient behavioral health clinics, school-based services, crisis services, substance abuse services, and rehabilitative programs.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prescribe, direct, or administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
• Order, analyze and evaluate patient data or test findings to diagnose nature or extent of mental disorders.
• Design, execute or approve individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments.
• Prescribe and monitor medications and other treatments.
• Completes training and provides treatment using Medication Assisted Therapies (MAT).
• Gather and maintain patient information and records.
• Participate in care planning and coordination meetings to facilitate care process.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current and valid board certification in psychiatry.
• Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency.
• Licensed to practice medicine in state of practice.
• Current DEA registration.
• Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
• Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria.
• Training and experience in providing Medication Assisted Therapies (MAT) preferred.
• Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques.
• Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge with PC applications and electronic medical records.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $274,000.00 - $276,000.00 per year
