The Boston University Libraries are seeking a Mailroom and Delivery Coordinator to support the functions related to the receipt, processing, and delivery of Libraries mail and material for all branches of the University Libraries. The Mailroom and Delivery Coordinator is the primary point of contact at the Mugar Library Mailroom, responsible for managing access to the loading dock, processing and distributing deliveries, troubleshooting any issues that arise with shipments and couriers, and maintaining the office supply inventory. The Libraries Mailroom and Delivery Coordinator takes the lead in Libraries recycling and sustainability program, working with BU Sustainability and internal stakeholders to optimize efforts among library branches. The Libraries Mailroom and Delivery Coordinator supervises a student staff of 10 and is responsible for training, scheduling, and payroll approval.


Responsibilities


  • Responsible for overseeing the Mugar Library Mailroom and managing access to the loading dock at 771 Commonwealth Avenue.
  • Manages the receipt, sorting, and distribution of mail and packages/shipments for all branches of the Boston University Libraries, facilitating immediate delivery of rush shipments.
  • Establishes processes and documentation to support timely and accurate mail service to branches of the University Libraries.
  • Develops relationships with couriers that regularly visit Libraries, to facilitate timely and accurate deliveries and troubleshoot lost items.
  • Coordinates with the University Sustainability program and Libraries stakeholders to adopt best practices in Mugar Library and branches.
  • Responsible for the oversight and support of recycling and sustainability efforts within branches of the BU Libraries.
  • Supervises a cohort of student employees, including hiring, scheduling, training, developing training material, and management of up to 10 Boston University students employed to support Mailroom operations.
  • Manages and deploys the Libraries’ office supply inventory, keeping highly-requested items on hand and easily accessible to staff of the University Libraries and culling items that are no longer in use.
