Lead Cashier
Hours for this position will be 11am - 7:30pm with weekend avalibility
- Responsible for overseeing the cashier team and procedures including ringing-up of purchases by appropriate department, handling cash, checks, and credit card sales.
- Responsible for training new cashiers on proper procedures.
- Responsible for store closing procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining excellent and courteous relations with customers in the retail store and for providing good customer service
- Provides solutions to customers and associates.
- Processes returns, voids and vouchers.
- Collecting carts and ensuring store is clean and public areas such as bathrooms are cleaned and stocked.
- Assistant customers in the retail floor in any department as needed.
- Cross train in multiple departments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including phones, registers and PC as required.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds. Associates who work in production must have the ability to regularly push, pull and lifting to 50 pounds while working both indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Flexibility to adapt and change duties as needed by the store management
1-3 years of prior cashier or retail customer service experience preferred
