Lead Carpenter - 10 years+ experience preferred

The Hamel Company is seeking motivated, highly skilled individuals with an attention to quality and detail who are ready to jump right into the world of restoration and reconstruction services. The Lead Carpenter role is an important part of our team – executing fundamental tasks that are vital to the successful completion of construction projects.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

- Fine finish carpentry, millwork and cabinet installation and repair skills

- Diagnose and solve unique repair challenges with high attention to detail

- Completing punch list items to help close out construction projects

- Oversight of subcontractors and on-site quality control

- Maintain a clean and organized van and job site

- Applying for permits and meeting building inspectors

- Patching and fine finish painting and staining

- All other on-site construction related tasks

Required Skills/Qualifications

- Frame to finish with a solid foundation of finish carpentry skills and millwork techniques

- No Fear of heights

- Ability to move/lift 40-80lbs on a regular basis

- Ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40/50lbs

- Ability to see, respond to and prevent dangerous situations

- A strong work ethic

- Ability to create your own work plan for a project and accountability to complete that plan without needing micromanagement

- Basic understanding of electrical, HVAC and plumbing

- Good written and oral communication skills

- Professional appearance and ability to work well with other

- Subject to background check, driving record check and drug testing

Preferred Skills:
- 10 years+ of general carpentry, maintenance person and construction experience

- MA Construction Supervisors License (CSL) is a plus *
