  • TLC Recovery Center of South Florida is seeking an experienced candidate for a BHT Supervisor Position, at our North Miami location. Our facility offers a full continuum of care to dual diagnosis patients.

We are currently searching for a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Behavioral/Mental Health Technician Supervisor (BHT/MHT). The BHT/MHT is an integral part of the TLC Recovery Center of South Florida team. The BHT/MHT Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and documenting client behaviors in support of patient safety.

  • JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises Behavioral Health Technicians and provides feedback on their performance. Orients and Trains new staff to unit and program. * Assists with Interviewing and Hiring BHTs. Communicates with staff either verbally or in written communication logs.

  • Assists with employee disciplinary actions.
  • Develops employee schedule.
  • Conducts employee performance evaluations.
  • Assists with interventions with clients.
  • Assists with confiscation of items.
  • Listens to clients and BHTs concerning all areas of the clients treatment.
  • Coordinate activities including lectures, recreation and meetings with Lead BHTs. Follows objectives of treatment plans.
  • Maintains safe, orderly and therapeutic physical environment for clients including crisis intervention.
  • Evaluates behavioral and emotional needs of clients and provides input.
  • Attends trainings as necessary and schedules BHTs to attend trainings.
  • Attends facility meetings and coordinates BHT department meetings.
  • Clerical duties as needed.
  • Complete required trainings and mandatory training hours.
  • Other duties as assigned Technical Competencies: Capable of role modeling to the clients and BHTs. Helps to maintain a strong clinical program.
  • Able to work together with staff to effectively meet the needs of the clients. Maintains positive relationship with clients and staff.
  • Strong skills in substance abuse and mental health treatment.
  • A working knowledge of HIPAA and Licensing regulations.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Excellent problem solving, and attention to detail and strong interpersonal relationship skills. Outstanding people skills ability to work with people in crisis and highly emotional contexts. Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work both independently and with a team.

  • * Knowledge of substance use disorder and mental health illnesses preferred.
  • Adheres to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to utilize software and work with databases required.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet pressing deadlines and anticipate needs.
  • Ability to maintain composure and exercise good judgment even under extreme pressure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and take direction from supervisor.
  • Ability to maintain current CPR certification.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED. Previous experience working in a chemical dependency residential or inpatient treatment program.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.
  • Strong communication skills, caring, and positive attitude

Salary is commensurate with relevant work experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
