The Lead Two-year-old teacher is responsible for creating an inspiring, safe and hands-on learning environment for children. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Teachers work together to maintain a quality educational program. Teachers develop positive relationships with children and families, observe and document children's interest and progress, and relay that information back to parents. Teachers implement developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests.

Duties
  • Implementation of hands-on activities to support goals for children.
  • Encourage participation by children.
  • Plan, guide and implement activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth of children.
  • Create a fun and safe learning environment.
  • Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
  • Complete required paperwork for Infant classroom
  • Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
  • Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
  • Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to childcare center.
  • Follow all center policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements
  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field OR
  • Minimum 24 credits in early childhood education
  • Experience writing lesson plans
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • An understanding of child development.
  • Ability to build relationships with children and families.
  • Positive, patient, and flexible.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain in 90 days of hire.
  • Must clear full background check.
  • Must pass health screening.
  • Passionate about working with children.
  • Registry level 11 or higher
