Job Description: Laundress - dedicated air-conditioned commercial laundry room on first floor of inn; inn has 14 guest rooms across 3 buildings each with 2 floors (no elevator)
Role and Responsibilities
- Key Tasks:
- Strip guestrooms after guests have departed - linens, towels, glassware
- Inspect all dirty laundry for stains and treat appropriately prior to washing
- Wash, dry, and fold linens and towels and place on appropriate shelves in laundry room
- Prepare clean linens and towels for staff member(s) assigned to clean guest room
- Maintain inventory levels of cleaning products and guest room amenities; communicate purchase needs to innkeepers and write on board in kitchen
- Remove stained and/or torn linens and towels from inventory and document for innkeepers
- Remove soiled placemats and tablecloths; replace with clean placemats and tablecloths
- Wash, dry, and fold placemats, tablecloths, napkins, and dish towels
- Wash, dry, and fold cleaning rags
- Job Requirements
- Part-time position but must be able to work 7 days a week, including holidays
- Typical shift 8:30AM – 2PM
- Reliable transportation and daycare (if applicable)
- Background check will be conducted
- Previous experience preferred
- Special Communications or Other Expectations:
- Communicate each morning with innkeepers for room and/or guest updates
- Make housekeeper staff assignments based on room priority
- Communicate late arrival by 7:30AM on day scheduled to work
- Communicate inability to work scheduled day by 5PM day prior to scheduled day
- Communicate with innkeepers early departures and/or required days off
- Communicate with innkeepers unfinished rooms and/or laundry
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
