T/Th: 7:00am-4:30pm

Fri: 7:30am-12:30pm

Eyes of York is seeking a motivated individual to fill our Ophthalmic Technician position. Ideal candidate will be outgoing with excellent communication skills to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for patients. Individual must be organized, detail oriented, and work in a timely and efficient manner. LASIK Coordination experience is a plus!

While experience in ophthalmology is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate. Individuals with strong customer service experience are encouraged to apply!

Individual will be responsible for:

  • Responding to website inquiries for laser vision correction procedures in a timely fashion.
  • Conducting Free Screenings via telephone or in person with potential laser vision correction candidates
  • Providing potential candidates with information on the different types of procedures offered, the process and timeline.
  • Reviewing medical history of the patient to determine if there are any contraindications to procedures.
  • Scheduling Refractive Exams and reviewing important information pertaining to the appointment.
  • Performing Refractive Exam workups, including visual acuity, refraction, motility, and more.
  • Gathering information for the surgeon regarding the patient’s lifestyle and hobbies to help make a recommendation for procedure.
  • Scheduling patients for laser vision correction procedures.
  • Reviewing instructions for pre and post-op, and setting visual expectations for patients through healing process based on procedure.
  • Assisting with post-op work ups, as needed.
  • Ordering and maintaining supplies for laser vision correction procedures.
  • Creating surgical schedules and staff task assignments for surgery days.
  • Assisting in pre-op and post-op on surgery days, laser calibration and assisting, and instrument assisting/sterilization.
  • Serving as contact point for laser manufacturers to schedule preventative maintenance and employee training.
  • Assisting with planning and execution of Laser Vision Correction seminars, which are held a few evenings a year.
