A Day in the Life…

As a Landscape worker at Garcia’s Lawn and Landscape, we’ll provide you and the team with the proper equipment, ice water, and company vehicles to get you to and from work sites, and you’ll provide your best attitude, good judgement and effort every day. Your primary responsibility is to work with the team, traveling locally to and from residential and commercial properties where you help to maintain and beautify our customers’ lawns and landscapes. On any given workday, you may perform any or all of the following tasks:

• You arrive at the office at 8400 W 127th Overland Park, KS 66223, at 8am each workday and you’re prepared with all of your necessities to make it until 5pm.
• You observe how to use equipment you’re not familiar using, you follow safety precautions given by leadership and equipment manufacturers, and you exercise extreme caution to avoid costly and hazardous mistakes.
• You assess the weather conditions prior to arriving to work each day, and you prepare yourself with proper attire and protection from the sun, rain, wind, snow, and storms.
• You operate hand tools such as rakes, shovels, pruners, pickax, sledgehammer, tamper, and pitchforks so that we meet each client’s lawn care needs and special requests.
• You use commercial equipment such as landscaping trucks, mowers, blowers, weed-eaters, trimmers, and you promptly point out hazards and non-functioning equipment to the supervisor.
• You trim hedges, prune bushes, edge lawns, mow grass, bag leaves and sticks, trim tree branches and help with other important work site tasks as needed.

• You’re dedicated to doing your best work and going above and beyond the call of duty to help the entire team be successful.
• You care about others and you take pride in improving our community’s properties.
• You enjoy being outside, and you are not afraid to work in a little inclement weather.
• You follow directions and listen well, and you’re generally a positive, helpful person who wants to be a part of a close-knit team.
• You reside in or near Kansas City, you have transportation to and from our office every workday, and you are able to travel with the team to work sites.
• You have lots of stamina, as this is a physically challenging position, and you can walk, run, pull, climb, and can maneuver your body with ease and comfort for several consecutive hours at a time.
• You know how to already, or you are comfortable learning to operate lawn care equipment, vehicles, and heavy machinery.
