The minimum salary is $18.182 per hour
This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime, if applicable.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION


The purpose of this is classification is to inspect and monitor all activities and operate the scalehouse operations at the LFUCG waste management facility to ensure that operations are in compliance with the LFUCG and state regulations and requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


High school, GED, or specialized vocational training; and, a minimum of two (2) years of landfill, inspection or survey experience; or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience .

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Inspects operations and monitors all construction contracts, environmental and maintenance activities at the material management facility for compliance with LFUCG and state regulations, requirements, and specifications
  • Tracks and collects data on material, vehicles, and people entering the material management facility with Autoscale and other programs to ensure compliance
  • Monitors leachate treatment discharge flow rates and pond service elevations in accordance with regulations
  • Manages the daily cash receipts
  • Prepares daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports covering all facility activities
  • Maintains the inventory and designs inventory procedures
  • Performs maintenance functions and other jobs as needed

Opens the Landfill daily and inspects the site to for any abnormalities. Checks the Landfill Roads for debris and trash. Inspects the manholes for leaching and makes sure they are pumped out when needed. Inspects the fences daily to see if they are broken or if any fallen trees are on them.

Possession of a valid Certified Landfill Operator Certificate, issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, within six (6) months as a condition of continued employment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS


• Must be able to operate Urban County Government equipment and vehicles in a safe, prudent and responsible manner.
  • All positions require drug testing before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
  • Pursuant to the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988 and to sections 21-52, 22-34 and 23-50 of the Code of Ordinances, all employees must remain drug and alcohol free when reporting to work, while at work and while engaged in any work related activities.
  • Based on Federal Regulations 19-10 this position may be eligible for and offered the hepatitis vaccinations. In addition, employees will be required to sign a statement stating they have accepted or declined the hepatitis vaccination.

EXAMINATION

Examination will be a training and experience evaluation from information provided on the application at filing deadline date.
