Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Construction Laborer to join our team. As an Asphalt Construction Laborer, you will play a vital role in helping with the construction, repair, and maintenance of asphalt pavements. Your expertise and knowledge in asphalt construction will contribute to the successful completion of various projects, ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the process. Asphalt Crew Members are responsible for the safe and efficient ability to set up Traffic Control, use a Rake & Shovel and the operation of one or more of the following: Skid Steers, Pavers, Asphalt Distributors, Rollers, or Shuttle Buggy. Asphalt Crew Members are an hourly-rated, skilled-craft position that can perform on construction projects any combination of the duties described more fully, below.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

· Assist in the setup and preparation of job sites, including clearing debris, marking boundaries by laying out traffic barricades & cones, erecting or dismantle braces, ramps, or other temporary structures.

· Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and small machinery used in asphalt construction.

· Prepare surfaces by removing debris, cleaning, and ensuring proper compaction.

· Assist with the installation and maintenance of asphalt pavement, including grading, leveling, and smoothing.

· Mix, shovel, and apply asphalt materials for repairs and new construction.

· Perform manual labor tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment.

· Operate and maintain construction equipment, including but not limited to asphalt pavers, rollers, skid steers, and excavators, in a safe and efficient manner.

· Assist in the installation of curbs, gutters, and other related components.

· Always ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations.

· Collaborate with the construction team to maintain workflow and meet project deadlines.

· Follow instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively with team members.

· Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment, and work areas.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as an Asphalt Construction Laborer or similar role.

- Ability to operate and maintain asphalt-related construction equipment, such as pavers, rollers, skid steers, and excavators.

- Solid understanding of asphalt construction techniques, materials, and equipment.

- Proficient in operating hand tools, power tools, and small machinery relevant to asphalt construction.

- Strong knowledge of construction site safety protocols and a commitment to always following them.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and job specifications.

- Physically fit and capable of performing strenuous manual labor in various weather conditions.

- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and potentially travel to different job sites as needed.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
