Lab Manager Job Description: MLee Healthcare is recruiting for a Lab Manager to lead the clinical laboratory department. This full-time exempt position oversees outpatient lab hours from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Friday and 7:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturdays. The lab is staffed 24/7 for inpatient and emergency care.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology with ASCP or equivalent certification.
  • Current Washington State Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist certification.
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a medical technologist, including 3 years in a lead/supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of lab operations, budget management, regulatory compliance, and information systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the clinical laboratory, including staffing, quality control, troubleshooting, and information flow.
  • Maintain departmental budget and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement new services and processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to lab employees.
  • Ensure safe and quality patient care through interdepartmental coordination.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and professionalism.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

  • Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory theory, techniques, and practices.

  • Set goals and objectives for operational effectiveness.
  • Administer laboratory policies and ensure compliance.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate lab employees.
  • Manage employee relations and performance.
  • Monitor productivity and adjust staffing as needed.
  • Promote a culture of excellence and customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and hazardous materials handling.
  • Collaborate with administration and serve as a clinical resource.
  • Engage in professional development and community involvement.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
