As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for analyzing samples and finished products, ensuring food safety, product quality and regulatory requirements for our food manufacturing process.

Lab Technician

What your compensation will look like:
  • $25.00 per hour
  • Shift differential- additional $1.00 per hour when working between the hours of 7pm – 7am
  • Up 10 days (120 hours) of vacation a year and 11 paid company holidays

    • Manage and execute product inspections, analytical testing, and documentation
    • Assist and support QA supervisor in meeting regulatory, food safety and compliance standards
    • Conduct HACCP and SQF related monitoring and verification activities including control checks, audits, temperature checks, CCP verification, pest control observations, pre-shipment reviews, microbiological swabbing, and other processing procedural checks or inspections
    • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance
    • Assist in training new employees
What your schedule will look like:

Schedule:
  • 12-hour shifts - 2 on, 2 off, 3 on schedule
    • Day Shift: 7 am to 7 pm
    • Night Shift: 7 pm to 7 am
  • Currently hiring for Day Shift
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days per week

What you have to offer:
  • Minimum of a high school education or GED
  • Working knowledge of AA, NIR and Leco systems a plus
  • Knowledge of food industry quality/sanitation standards and requirements, SQF and FGSI knowledge a plus
  • 1 to 2 years' experience worknig in a wet chemistry lab environment preferred
  • Associates or BA degree in Chemistry, Science, Agriculture or related field preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred
Physical requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net, and gloves when required
  • Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
  • Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
  • Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
  • Need to be able to work in a tobacco free environment
