Reporting to the Supervisor, provides technical assistance to agency staff, local education agencies and program administrators; coordinates work around the Kindergarten Individual Development Survey (KIDS) and KIDStech; serves as the primary contact for program administrators and assists with problems and questions regarding KIDS; coordinate and provide assistance in the state level KIDS data reports and data files.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides expertise in the program area of the Kindergarten Individual Development Survey (KIDS) for effective program leadership, development, coordination, and implementation in the area of early childhood readiness assessment which includes cross departmental work related to KIDS.
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of inservice training sessions for districts, departmental staff, and others in developing and providing awareness and training activities to school districts and other professional organizations as directed by management.
  • Maintains contact with external resources, agencies, and professional organizations related to assigned program.
  • Provides technical assistance and other support services for districts by way of written and verbal communications for KIDS. This could include on-site visits.
  • Participates in the preparation of state reports which describe the agency’s ability to meet state objectives/program goals as it relates to KIDS data.
  • Reviews and recommends contractual agreements related to the implementation of KIDS.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Education, Psychology or Social Work with an emphasis on Early Childhood or a Bachelor's Degree in one of these fields plus three years of relevant professional experience. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION)
  • Two years of experience (in addition to education requirements) in Early Childhood programs serving children ages birth to five years and their families.
  • Knowledge of best practices and procedures for developing and delivering Early Childhood as it relates to Kindergarten readiness for the KIDS assessment.
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Travel and public speaking required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in providing training and technical assistance on best practices in Early Childhood birth to three programs preferred.
