Job Description
In a constantly evolving business environment, Information Systems and Digital are the factory of Trading & Shipping as well as Gas & Power Trading. They are at the heart and inseparable from business processes.
In a context of rapid changes in the business scope, particularly in the field of renewable energies, strong competition and very high price volatility, the business demands on Information Systems and Digital are extremely high. These last are one of the cornerstones of the overall performance of Trading & Shipping and Trading Gas & Power. Without reliable Information Systems, scalable and efficient and a Digital laboratory providing ever more innovative tools, there is no trading.
You will be expected to perform the following job duties as a Business Analyst for Gas and Power information systems:

• To represent business requirements in software development teams and act to drive appropriate change.
• To ensure the proper implementation of business requirements in terms of functionality, performance and quality.
• To manage small projects in a non-hierarchical situation.

The Junior Business Analyst is at the interface between the users and the software development teams. You will ensure the quality and the full adequacy of the software with the business requirements and proprieties, and provides support to the business.
Activities
Support

• Provide support and ensure the interface between the users and the development teams
• Understand why errors occur, find ways to work around them until they are corrected
• Understand business operations and propose adequate evolution to properly support them

Tests

• Design and execute functional, non-regression and user acceptance testing of the new software releases
• Ensure compliance of the delivered software with the users’ specifications and according to the predefined planning

Project Management

• Based on business process definition, define and documents the user requirements for the future software releases
• Ensure that software and test documentation is up to date and accurate
• Propose tasks planning and commit to following it
• Promote the new features and functionalities and participate to the Change Management
• Ensure the consistency of the business requirements with the overall ETRM system

Context and Environment

The Junior Business Analyst therefore needs excellent analytical and communication skills coupled with the ability to think quickly to balance competing priorities and execute appropriate solutions in coordination with managers in a fast paced environment.

The position requires one to act independently and proactively in completing tasks, and to demonstrate an ability to work in a time pressured environment to achieve deadlines. The job holder must be able to manage working relationships with peers, and interact efficiently with managers and stakeholders.

Candidate Profile:
In order to succeed in this position you will bring the following qualifications with you:

• University educated to at least master’s level in an engineering field
• Fluent in English; French preferred
• One to two years’ experience on a Trading floor as diversified as possible including a middle-office position, a solid understanding of commodity trading, strong interest in IT technologies, with experience of software development in complex environment, and a first experience of project management in an international environment. Good knowledge of modelling tools and agile methodology
• This position requires autonomy, discipline, to be resourceful and well organized
• Be proactive, and have good ability to convince, IT skills and interest essential
• Good communication skills and service-oriented
• Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment
