JJYS Technician II - Cedar City
If you would like a position working with today's youth, then you are in the right place! A great way to start your career in Juvenile Justice is to become a Technician II. Juvenile Justice Youth Technicians' work with delinquent adolescents in the following types of environments:
- Short- and long-term secure confinement
- Multi-use facilities
- Community-based programs.
Principal Duties
- Oversee and work closely with high risk/violent youth offenders.
- Monitor visitors & residents within the facility.
- Schedule and coordinate activities for the youth
- Assist the Control Supervisor by making perimeter checks.
- Resolves potentially dangerous situations to ensure the safety of staff, clients, and or the public by applying appropriate intervention techniques to people, facilities and property.
- Pass the Integrated Crisis Response (ICR) intervention program within 90 days of employment.
- Practice "Standards of Care" and supervision of delinquent youth
- Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely in writing (read and understand information presented in writing)
- Write correspondence, reports, documents and other written materials.
We are looking for a candidate who is available to work rotating shifts, which include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Preference
May be given to candidates 19+ years of age
May be given to candidates who have a high school diploma or GED
