POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Technician-Tier 2 keeps phones, voice system, PCs, scanners, printers and other equipment updated and maintained; sets up/configures new equipment; troubleshoots computer hardware, software, and network issues; assists in performing general software application maintenance and upgrades. The IT Technician also creates, modifies user accounts and group membership as needed.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following:

  • Responds to phone and voice system IT tickets as they are entered by the staff which includes problems and requests
    • Determines priority status of each, as well as gathers information to determine the priority.
    • Communicate/coordinate with IT Director on tickets as needed.
    • Completes IT tickets assigned by IT Director.
  • Assists IT Department Technician - Tier 1 with IT tickets as they are entered by the staff which includes problems and requests
    • Determines priority status of each, as well as gathers information to determine the priority.
    • Communicate/coordinate with IT Director on tickets as needed.
    • Completes IT tickets assigned by IT Director.
  • Configures and installs of all new computer systems, scanners and other equipment.
  • Assists in new user creation and assignment of network and application rights.
  • Assists with implementation of new software programs as necessary.
  • Assists with upgrades to various programs used by the companies.
  • Troubleshoots IT issues remotely in coordination with other IT department staff.
  • Travels to other office locations if necessary to troubleshoot, and to deliver new or replacement equipment.
  • Removes decommissioned electronic equipment (e.g. computers, printers, fax machines), destruction of e-PHI contained on such devices and coordination of pickup and recycling.
  • Assists in inventory management of company network devices (e.g. computers, printers, fax machines, phones)
  • Available after office hours when necessary for urgent needs.
  • Maintains knowledge of and follows policies, procedures, Code of Conduct, and all Federal and state rules and regulations related to the position.
  • Completes all required compliance training.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent is required; Associates degree preferred and/or equivalent education or experience in job related activities. Experience with electronic health records is strongly preferred.
