IT Support Specialist

The IT Support Specialist is responsible primarily to resolve end user support as well as participate in the installation, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of all hardware and networking equipment to ensure maximum uptime for all sites within the organization. End-user support encompasses providing telephone, email, and portal support to the staff for hardware, software, and telephone system related issues.

Job Duties:

  • Provides technical support to end-users answering user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems
  • Oversees the installation, configuration, and support of end user equipment
  • Investigates, analyzes, and resolves hardware and associated software and communications problems on university computer systems; performs complex hardware repairs and maintenance on a wide range of pc-based computers and peripherals
  • Conduct diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support as needed
  • Provides hardware technical assistance and support; troubleshoots and resolves system hardware, software, and communications failures and conflicts
  • Installs, configures, and supports end user equipment
  • Troubleshooting for all AdaptHealth issued computer hardware
  • Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software
  • Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software
  • Records/documents all service request to follow defined Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) standards
  • Exhibits excellent customer service skills while treating callers with respect, teaching them to help themselves, whenever possible
  • Monitors and tracks frequent calls types as well as frequent callers using AdaptHealth Portal ticketing system
  • Uses client tools to troubleshoot users via remote administration
  • Manage deployment, administration, and support for desktops/laptops/mobile devices etc.
  • Field incoming help requests from end users
  • Access and install appropriate upgrades, patches, drivers, etc.
  • Perform hands-on fixes, including software/ hardware install and upgrade, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications

Competency, Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer experience and expertise with Window systems/networks.
  • Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and LAN, Windows AD
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suites, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problems solving skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid ability to learn new technologies and possess the technical aptitude required to understand flow of data through systems as well as system interaction
  • Self-disciplined to work alone and with groups to follow projects through to completion.
  • Ability to take initiative to improve processes
Requirements:

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree from two-year college preferred.
  • Two (2) years IT related Service Desk same job function or Network related experience
  • Microsoft or A+ Certifications preferred
