Responsibilities and Duties:

• Information Protection

• Monitor and respond to alerts from AVI’s managed detection and response vendor. Including Intrusion Detection, Data Loss Protection Endpoint Detection & Response system notifications
• Ensure AVI endpoints are protected by appropriate technologies
• Respond to requests to allow access to sites blocked by AVI's Secure Web Gateway, ensuring a high level of protection is in place while working to limit the impact on end-user productivity
• Review messages submitted as phishing, take actions to remediate, respond to end users, and adjust automation tools

• Vulnerability Management

• Works with the Security Engineer to review and prioritize remediation of results of penetration tests and vulnerability scans
• Log Service Desk requests with appropriate groups to remediate items found during scans
• Participate in AVI’s vulnerability management program to evaluate risk within AVI's infrastructure. Works with the Systems
• Administrator to ensure appropriate patches and updates are applied in accordance with AVI's patch management policy
• Maintain real-time, current knowledge of emerging threats

• Identity Management/Zero Trust

• Create end-user accounts
• Ensure AVI's multi-factor authentication solution is protecting AVIs digital assets
• Assist end users with setup and use of AVI's Centralized Password Management system
• Perform a quarterly audit to ensure termed users' accounts are deleted from AVI's systems
• Perform yearly audits of end-user permissions and adjust accordingly
• Stay up to date with emerging Identity technologies

• Security Awareness

• Stay up to date with trends in the information security community including new vulnerabilities, methodologies, and products.
• Work with AVI’s Security Engineer to conduct internal phish testing a minimum of once per quarter
• Work with IT leadership to create and deliver monthly security awareness campaigns and as part of new hire orientation

• Project Work

• Participates in project work inside and outside of the IT department
• Utilizes AVI's project management methodology, identifying scope, objectives, success factors, implementation plan, schedule, and communications plan.
• Holds self and project team accountable to ensure successful project completion within the scope and timelines of the project plan.

Required Skills:

• Experience with security tools such as Secure Email Gateways, Secure Web Gateway, NextGen Antivirus/Endpoint Detection, and Response,
• Security Incident and Event Management.
• Security Awareness Training, Privileged Access Management, privileged remote access, Endpoint Privileged management.
• Vulnerability scanning
• Understanding of Information Security standards, frameworks, and benchmarks such as CIS and NIST.
• Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, email, HTTP, SSL, OSI model, and TCP/IP protocols and applications.
• Experience Administering Microsoft and Cisco Systems
• Ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms
