Our Lincoln, RI office is seeking an IT Project Manager who will work on software development initiatives, manage the planning, organization and implementation of complex IT projects, including software development initiatives.

This position is open to fulltime remote work, with the ability to come onsite as needed.

Starting salary range of $70,095 – $135,893 annually based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the successful and timely delivery of IT projects or phases of large projects ensuring optimum levels of integrity, performance and reliability. Identify challenges and risks and handle unforeseen problems or issues; Lead team through all phases of the project and is accountable for the estimating, planning, scheduling, tracking, change management, problem resolution, reporting and communication using appropriate tools, approved processes and other project management techniques.
  • Define and schedule tasks and work with Service/Application Managers to assign individual responsibilities to team members.
  • May lead or participate in the interaction with business partners, project team members, other IT colleagues and external vendors to ensure clarity of the business problem, outcome and scope and ensures issues and risks are understood and resolved. Provide appropriate communication and status throughout the project lifecycle to all affected parties so accurate decisions can be made in a timely manner.
  • May contribute to advancing and championing best practices.
  • Provide guidance, promote mentoring, and may assess the performance of team members.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of IT experience, including project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Possess strong conflict-resolution skills; Able to take control of difficult situations; Perseveres even during resistance and setbacks with a focus on a successful outcome.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization, including senior leadership. Open and relates well to others, easy to approach and builds rapport with employees and vendors.
  • Able to listen attentively and ask relevant questions with the intention of being able to accurately understand and restate the opinions of others.
  • Maintain a continuous goal for improvement in the areas of innovation, quality, productivity and documentation. Encourage and promote quality, ingenuity and timely work. Inspire others to perform at a high level and to embrace change.
  • Has an awareness of external industry trends and key competitors. Capable of thinking out of the box and adding to other’s suggestions.
  • Committed to increasing functional and technical knowledge and continuous learning, including, but is not limited to self-teaching, training sessions or seminars with a focus on expanding knowledge beyond the current role, including leadership and emerging technologies. Keeps abreast of new systems and impacts.
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies and JIRA; Able to manage projects across multiple methodologies, technologies and lines of business.
  • Prior Insurance experience a plus.
