POSITION SUMMARY:

Metropolitan Commercial Bank (the “Bank”) is offering an opportunity for a Banking and Corporate Systems Manager. The Banking and Corporate Systems Manager will lead the Bank’s growing team of Business Analysts and Developers, performing application support, business analysis and custom application development for both internal and external clients in an Agile environment. They must be a hands-on professional with solid banking knowledge, customer oriented and enjoys working with the team to achieve goals, eliminate operational and security risks, and increase customer satisfaction. The position reports directly to the Chief Digital Officer (CDO). This position is ideal for a candidate who will thrive in an exciting, growing entrepreneurial environment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Manage the Banking and Corporate Systems Team and their related activities ranging from daily work huddles, planning for the individuals’ growth, and performing the staff’s annual reviews. This also includes:

o Business analysis and functional support across the Bank’s applications

o Technical support

o Development activities

o Management of vendors relationships for business systems including ensuring vendor systems are operating as expected, and changes are identified and tested when necessary, coordinating with the business areas.

  • Assist the CDO in strategizing (especially when defining and executing the Digital Transformation initiatives of the Bank) and in the budgeting process.
  • Proposes meaningful solutions for the Bank’s strategy as well as for the reduction or containment of the Business as Usual (BAU) budget.
  • Develop, enhance, implement and/or enforce policies, procedures and standards.
  • Maintain a high level of security and regulatory compliance in all systems and technologies and establish KPI’s and KRI’s to monitor security readiness.
  • Collect, prioritize, and organize the activities of the Team.
  • Identify metrics to most effectively manage the staff and technology initiatives, to produce meaningful results for the organization.
  • Optimize utilization of the staff by implementing continuous improvement process and mindset at all levels, centralizing the monitoring of processes, eliminating recurring issues, automating manual processes and leveraging technology to shift BAU capacity towards projects and business growth.
  • Serve as a resource to Business Units, internal Team Members, and Management, acting as the primary point of contact for the support and development backlog.
  • Ensure cross-training of the team and documentation is kept up to date.
  • Interact with auditors, regulators, and examiners
  • The Banking and Corporate Systems Manager should also keep his/her own skills up to date with the latest digital solutions, and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES (Required for this job.):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required.
  • Minimum 5 years performing relevant management functions with a staff of Business Analysts and Developers.
  • The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent analytical skills: detail-oriented; ability to grasp new concepts quickly, synthesize complex information effectively, and communicate complicated issues clearly and simply to present clear and actionable choices and recommendations; creative problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience working in the banking industry is preferred.

Potential Salary: $190,000 - $215,000 annually

This salary range only reflects base wages and does not include benefits, bonus, or incentive pay. Salary bands are purposefully wide ranging to encompass the different factors considered in determining where a candidate falls in the range, including but not limited to, seniority, performance, experience, education, and any other legitimate, non-discriminatory factor permitted by law.
