Inventory Clerk Job at Axis Pipe and Tube
1. Position
- Inventory Clerk
- FLSA Classification(s): Non-Exempt/Hourly
2. Job Summary
- The goal of this position is to inventory, organize, requisition, receive and stock parts and supplies.
3. Immediate Supervisor
- This position reports directly to the Yard Manager.
4. Standards
- Providing exceptional customer service to all customers, suppliers, and employees.
- Constantly representing of the company in a positive and professional manner regardless of customer requests, complaints, or demeanor.
- Complying with policies and procedures.
- Interacting with other employees, suppliers, and customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Communicating work progress and significant issues to the immediate supervisor.
5. Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining the pipe inventory, including but not limited to, customer, product size, weight, grade, and the location of the each pipe being stored.
- Responsible for randomly checking the pipe transfers to maintain accuracy.
- Maintains pipe inventory yard along with location of pipe.
- Conducts an annual physical inventory of the yard.
- Requisition parts that need to be ordered from proper purchasing authority.
- Receive and store purchased parts in storeroom bins.
- Keep record of parts received and used, and inventory parts in storeroom periodically to ensure adequate supply.
- Perform parts supply inventory.
- Responsible for completing any assignments given by Supervisor, even those assignments not specifically listed in this job description.
6. Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must be able to read and understand the Work Instructions for the position held.
- Three Months of Inventory Experience
- Computer Experience
7. Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
8. Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform light to medium lifting as necessary.
