About the position:
The Interpreter/Relief Home Visitor will provide Spanish-English translation services (verbal and written). The Interpreter/Relief Home Visitor will serve as a liaison between OCCDA and others serving our clients to assist Spanish speaking families with all aspects of Head Start/Early Head Start/ECEAP services. Provide educational and family services to families with infants/toddlers and pregnant women in a home base setting. These services include visits with the child's parents, primarily in the child's home and group socialization opportunities in a classroom, community facility, or on field trips.

The ideal candidate will have the following:
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse staff, families, and children
  • Strong ability to write and verbally communicate in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of Community Resources

  • Use effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
Required Education and Experience:

High School/GED


Ability to read, write, speak, and translate Spanish/English.


Employment or volunteer experience interpreting or translating from English to Spanish.

This position is 37 hours for 52 weeks per year with a starting salary of $17.38 per hour. If you do not have the required experience we will hire at a provisional rate of $16.00 per hour while we train you!
