Job Summary:
Translate and interpret medical and other information regarding the patient's care between the medical/clinical staff and the patienUfamily. Enters registration information and make appointments into Epic (Information/Billing System) for patients including but not limited to Spanish/limited English speaking patients.

Education:
Required: High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: College degree in Spanish or desired language.

Experience:
Required: Evidence of expertise with clients of Limited English proficiency (LEP) must be fluent in Spanish. Evidence of Microsoft Office computer skills.

Preferred: Previous work in the medical field and/or knowledge of medical terminology. Previous work with community groups; Previous experience providing group presentation, an/or community lectures.

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required: Competency Test required within 1 year of employment; must demonstrate an overall rating of Meet Expectations (ME) or Exceeds Expectations (EE) as a Clinical Interpreter.

Preferred: Certification as a clinical interpreter

Department Position Summary:
A Clinical Interpreter at Southside and Dodson Avenue Community Health Centers (rotating between sites as assigned) is responsible for translating and interpreting medical and other information regarding the patient's care between the medical/clinical staff and the patient/family. Enters registration information and make appointments into Epic (Information/Billing System) for patients including but not limited to Spanish/limited English speaking patients.

This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.

Knowledge of regulatory standards and health care compliance
