Job Description


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The person in this position is expected to communicate clearly and courteously; to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, collaborators, co-workers, field sites, and funders; and to work respectfully with EDC colleagues. The job requires adherence to EDC policies and procedures.

Because this job sits within the business development function of the International Division, it requires an ability to handle the pressure of multiple deadlines, excellent attention to detail and the ability to remain organized and track multiple documents and deliverables, potentially in multiple languages and countries.

Under management oversight, the International Project Coordinator for Business Development (I) provides support to project staff in the US and abroad, including:

  • general administrative duties
  • serving as backup for other Business Development staff
  • researching, compiling, and synthesizing information relating to topics as assigned
  • maintaining records and online Business Development archives
  • drafting or translating materials including Past Performance References, and other material as assigned
  • disseminating information
  • assisting in identification, recruitment, and servicing of consultants
  • assisting in identification and recruitment of staffing for proposals
  • contributing ideas for improved efficiency or future focus
  • Supports gathering information and intelligence regarding all areas of international work of interest to IDD;
  • Provides support to the Director, and Senior Associates (proposal managers) in preparing technical proposals, as assigned, including developing and implementing timelines, updating resources such as capability statements, project descriptions, resumes and PPRs; as well as proposal formatting
  • Provides assistance to the proposal teams in developing templates and implementation plans; provides support and coordination for ensuring Annexes are complete
  • Provides assistance to the proposal managers in liaising with partners, including providing templates, tracking receipt of partner required documentation, and materials
  • Assists in organizing and facilitating public events such as panels and brown bag presentations organized by the business development team
  • Facilitates project teamwork; seeks and utilizes feedback
  • Provides logistical support
  • Assists with quality assurance
  • May act as a liaison between home offices and field-based staff
  • May be expected to travel

Qualifications


This position requires educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Specific requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Master’s degree or equivalent combination of training and education in a related field preferred
  • 2–4 years related research, education, international development or administrative coordination experience, requiring computer competence
  • Strong organizational & analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Collaborative team player
  • Knowledge/fluency in second language preferred

This position offers a starting salary of $52,000. Salary offers are made based on market analysis and internal equity.
