POSITION OVERVIEW

The Project Architect will play a key part within IIG’s comprehensive design team. This role requires an individual who is passionate about pursuing design excellence through process, teamwork, and strong leadership. As Project Architect, you will be responsible for construction documentation for multiple large-scale projects. In addition, this role is highly skilled in technical knowledge to ensure quality documentation is submitted to architects, and or consultants, hotel brands, and hotel owners. Engaging in a heavy amount of team collaboration, the Project Architect is always searching for ways to mentor and guide surrounding team members.

RESPONSIBLITIES

The Project Architect has accountability for the successful execution of the Construction Document Set, leads communication and coordination of technical issues with the other project consultants to ensure the drawings completely depict the design implementation, and possesses an expert level knowledge of construction detailing of interior finishes, design features and millwork.

DESIGN | PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Collaborate with Senior Project Manager on assigned projects from design development through construction documentation and construction administration with minimal supervision for the implementation of design
  • Demonstrate effective leadership and reinforces the firm’s mission and vision
  • Adhere to the terms of the Interior Design Agreement executed between the firm and client and any sub-consultants
  • Provide timely responses to all client correspondence with very little supervision from senior management
  • Ensure project information is communicated internally and externally
  • Create specifications and installation coordination of FF&E furnishings, decorative lighting, and other related interior design contract documents with an expert technical knowledge and execution
  • Possess an expert knowledge of hotel standards, fire codes, and ADA Accessibility requirements for interiors
  • Serve as lead technical support on assigned projects, directing the team and solutioning design intent
  • Lead construction documentation process with the primary responsibility to provide production support, ensuring quality and timely completion of any deliverables
  • Collaborate with Vice President of Project Management to solution all construction administration related issues

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION | LICENSING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture or Design required with minimum of 5 years of design experience
  • NCIDQ (in progress, preferred)
  • LEED-AP ((in progress, preferred)
  • NCARB (desired)

COMPUTER PROGRAMS

  • AutoCad (5+ years, advanced proficiency required)
  • Revit (5+ years, advanced proficiency required)
  • Adobe Photoshop (advanced proficiency desired)
  • Adobe InDesign (intermediate proficiency desired)
  • Google Sketch-Up (intermediate proficiency required)
  • Microsoft Office (intermediate proficiency)
  • Spexx (desirable)

HOSPITALITY | INTERIOR DESIGN

  • Technical knowledge for creating specifications and installation coordination of FF&E furnishings, decorative lighting, and other related interior design contract documents
  • Sketching skills
  • Finely tuned and tasteful eye for color, texture, and pattern
  • Knowledge of hotel standards, fire codes, and ADA accessibility requirements for interiors
  • Models highly organized approach to design process resulting in on time, on budget deliverables

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Client management skills
