Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. has an opportunity for an Intake Therapist to join our team. The Intake Therapist will provide a broad range of psychotherapeutic services including: provide comprehensive clinical assessments (MH/SUD), individual counseling interventions, facilitation of group therapy for consumers with mental health and substance abuse diagnoses.

• Conduct evaluation of the mental health and substance use disorder treatment needs of clients and necessary referrals to community services.
• Complete thorough assessments to determine behavioral and emotional mental health symptoms, and to facilitate placement into the appropriate level of care.
• Facilitate consumer entry for Mental Health and Substance Abuse treatment services.
• Utilize motivational interviewing to promote behavioral change to engage clients and direct them into supportive and informational counseling, to include crisis intervention, case management, and the development of collateral contacts.
• Interfaces with such agencies as the DMH, criminal justice services, Public Health and other related community agencies and resources to give and receive information relative to clients.

Qualification/ Skills:

Education: Graduation from a four-year college or university in human services or related field.

Experience/ Skills:

• Licensed in a discipline to provide mental health services, such as Psychology (LPA or LP), Social Work (MSW), Professional Counseling (LPC), or equivalent.
• Thorough knowledge of substance abuse, addiction, mental health and co-occurring disorders.
