RiverVista is a freestanding psychiatric hospital in the heart of downtown Columbus, Ohio. We serve the adult and geriatric populations in a contemporary environment that promotes healing for long-term recovery. We specialize in providing care to those struggling with emotional challenges, such as anxiety, depression or anger triggered by loss or illness. Combining a blend of group therapy, clinical treatment and therapeutic interventions, our center provides a safe, and healing environment for our patients. Our compassionate and highly trained team works closely with each patient to develop and oversee a comprehensive plan of care to establish both short and long term goals that support both the ongoing behavioral health needs for that patient.

The Intake Assessor must be flexible, with excellent customer service, and be able to review clinical information and complete assessments. He/She must be comfortable with entering information into Medik and Salesforce as well as verifying insurance coverage. The Intake Assessor must also understand urgency and be able to work well in stressful situations.

The Responsibilities of the Intake Assessor include:

• Receives inquiry calls and assists the caller with scheduling a face-face assessment or provides triage to the appropriate community referral based on patient need.
• Assesses or ensures assessment by a licensed, qualified mental health professional for patients who present for assessment.
• Coordinates with the physician to ensure appropriate treatment is provided either at the hospital or another appropriate provider in the community.
• Ensures appropriate screening of medical and behavioral emergency conditions.
• Completes all administrative processes of the admission for treatment including, as appropriate, the initial authorization of care with the insurance company/third-party payor.
