Description:The instrumentation and controls technician monitors the control systems of the brewery’s automated equipment. To do their job effectively, they will utilize various software’s to verify that the controls are within certain parameters and functioning as designed. When controls exceed or fall below specifications, or fail to operate, they must quickly troubleshoot the problem to avoid or minimize interruptions to production.
REPONSIBILITIES

• Read, understand, and interpret schematics, ladder drawings, technical specifications and manufacture’s manuals related to repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical instrumentation and control equipment
• Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems including, but not limited to: PLC’s, electric motors, motor controls, flow equipment, system alarms, heating and exhaust systems, conduits, cable, and relays
• Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with established procedures
• Provide technical guidance to operations and maintenance personnel and provide suggestions to improve service and operations
• Contact and work with independent contractors regarding electrical instrumentation and control system repairs and installations
• Coordinate with management staff to maintain an inventory of electrical parts and equipment sufficient to perform repairs and complete normal installations
• Assist in repairs and maintenance in the facility
• Assist with installation of new, used, and repaired equipment throughout the brewery
• Train and support staff on equipment upgrades, repairs, PM’s, projects, etc.
• Responsible for working in a safe and effective manner in compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, company and facility health and safety, fire, environmental, quality, and general ordinances/policies

Requirements:DESIRED SKILLS

• Experience with processing or high-speed packaging on a continuous production line
• Experience of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Experience or equivalent education in electrical instrumentation and control system maintenance, installation, and repair
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Good organizational and communication skills

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Mechatronics degree, or Four (4) years of related experience or equivalent education in electrical instrumentation and control system maintenance
• Acquire a maintenance electricians license to be able to do like-in-kind low voltage replacements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONEMENT

• Ability to operate forklift
• Ability to work on feet for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift over 50lbs
• Flexible to meet the seasonal production needs
• Ability to take occasional service calls
