The Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Instructor positions in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Board certified/board eligible in general internal medicine or family medicine is required.

Responsibilities may include nights and weekends at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, as well as limited weekend shifts at Good Shepherd Penn Partners Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH). This Instructor position in Hospital Medicine is a part of a unique non-ACGME fellowship with the Department of Emergency Medicine. The incumbent will be provided didactic and clinical training in ultrasound, while also working clinically as an attending physician on hospital medicine services.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity for mentorship and structured career development within hospital medicine. Application and recruitment will be handled in concert with the Department of Emergency Medicine.
