Job Description
Peterson Cat has a need for an experienced Inside Sales Representative (ISR) who can be based at any company location.
SUMMARY
This position will have responsibility for monitoring and providing sales coverage and support to Peterson’s retail customers. Contact will be made through both direct and indirect channels. The ISR will be assigned their own customer list for which they will be responsible for sales coverage. The ISR will generate machine and product support sales (parts and service sales), as well as, produce rental leads for our rental group. Additionally, the ISR is to work with the sales team (management and sales reps) to grow existing customer accounts, facilitate lead generation, and qualify leads generated through telemarketing and other indirect channels.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Makes 80 out bound phone contacts per week.
  • Responds to the needs of walk-in customers.
  • Accountable for Customer Relationship Management (“CRM”) input with retail customers within assigned territory.
  • Conducts proactive account management on assigned accounts by completing the customer profile function in Sales Link.
  • Gathers and updates customer equipment lists.
  • Uses Sales Link to document customer information, leads, activities and sales transactions.
  • Partners with Marketing, Product Support Sales Representative, Rental Field Representative, and Sales Representatives to identify interested and qualified customers.
  • Contacts prospective customers to determine customer needs, present product information, and explain available services. Provides information brochures and other literature to inform customers and influence buying decisions.
  • Follows up on telemarketing leads.
  • Evaluates leads, effectively and efficiently, and determines whether to respond or pass the lead to sales resources management for assignment.
  • Stay current on Cat and competitive products in order to offer the best solutions based on customer interests and concerns.
  • Presents equipment and finance options and solutions, as needed.
  • Quotes and closes product support transactions.
  • Completes all required sales documentation including finance contracts.
  • Follows all sales processes and procedures.
  • Partners with management to ensure marketing campaigns are directed to the right opportunities for retail customers.
  • Assists with customer surveys as needed.
  • Works safely at all times, adheres to all applicable safety policies and complies with all company policies, procedures and standards.
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of one year of experience in sales, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
