The Infrastructure Architect will plan, design, and implement advanced information systems to support all infrastructure service domains. Ensure that all systems work at optimal levels and support the development of new technologies and systems with a focus on meeting the business, security, and compliance requirements of the organization.

  • Act as the subject matter expert for all infrastructure technologies.
  • Design, plan, and implement system, network, and voice architectures that are highly performing, sustainable, scalable, fault tolerant, and secure.
  • Define and document technology standards, train team members on those standards, and confirm adherence across all implementations and platforms.
  • Work closely with business leaders and project managers to build and validate requirements, identify personnel, establish budget, manage technical partners, and verify technical solutions related to key projects.
  • Present solutions and justification for technical initiatives to senior IT and business leadership.
  • Establish technology roadmaps that align with business strategy and product lifecycles.
  • Lead the technical implementation of projects working closely with Network, Telecom, Systems, Desktop, and Security Engineers, DBAs, Developers, and Consultants.
  • Transition technical tasks and cross train resources as initiatives move from implementation to support.
  • Build and maintain documentation appropriate for the complexity of the solution that aligns with each phase of the product lifecycle: concept, design, as-built, and ongoing support.
  • Identify and analyze key metrics (KPI/SLA) to help drive results within IT and the business.
  • Expert knowledge in all infrastructure domains including but not limited to enterprise class servers, storage, virtualization, network, and IP voice.
  • Experience implementing solutions on premise and in public and private cloud environments including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Managed Infrastructure environments.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing complex networks leveraging enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, security appliances, software defined network tools.
  • Proven experience implementing enterprise class storage solutions from major providers leveraging iSCSI, FC, and/or NFS protocols.
  • Expert knowledge implementing and supporting virtualized environments. Preference will be given to candidates with experience specific to VMware: vSphere, vCenter, vRealize, NSX, and Horizon products.
  • Proven experience with the following enterprise applications: Active Directory, Microsoft Stack, IAM tools, Enterprise Monitoring solutions, Enterprise Backup/Recovery/Archive solutions, IIS or Apache Web Servers, and Corporate PBX & Contact Center systems
  • Firm understanding of hyperconverged solutions.
  • Understanding of disaster recovery techniques at all levels.
  • Working knowledge of database fundamentals and how infrastructure architecture impacts application performance.
  • Proficient with enterprise modeling tools such as Visio.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical or management field
  • 3+ years Architecture experience with 10+ years in Infrastructure Engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to gather, interpret and analyze complex data; strong oral and written communications skills including presentation skills; strong collaboration and relationship building skills; ability to manage cross-functional projects, as demonstrated by previous experience coordinating deadlines and deliverables with multiple stakeholders; advanced MS Office skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in technical or management field
  • At least one Professional level Engineering certification: CCNP, MCSE, VCP, and/or Azure Cloud, or equivalent
  • 5+ years Architecture experience with 15+ years in Infrastructure Engineering disciplines.
  • SME of 2 or more Infrastructure domains: Networking, Firewalls, Servers, Virtualization, Storage, Telecom, Desktops, Databases, and any others as it relates to Infrastructure solutions and integrations.
