We are looking for an experienced and motivated Industrial Sales Professional to join our Team! We are a family owned, growing Midwest Foundry and Machine Shop who is eager for additional growth and new sales.

The Industrial Sales Professional is responsible for Outside Sales and Marketing at our vibrant Foundry and Machine Shop. He or she must be highly motivated to seek out new sales opportunities and be diligent in maintaining our existing customer base. He/she must be an effective communicator who is personable, dependable and responsive to our customers' needs. He/she must have the highest level of knowledge and understanding of our products and methods of manufacturing and able to converse fluently about and understand the engineering and design aspects of our products. He/she must be a hard worker; one who is steadfastly dedicated to the success of our Company.

The Industrial Sales Professional must maintain the highest level of integrity and honor when interacting with our customers and our personnel. He/she will stimulate a cooperative team environment which will enable his co-workers to achieve their personal best. He/she will be a gifted problem solver, able to successfully multitask and must be organized, confident and punctual. He/she must be an excellent listener and have a willingness to serve others. Must be able to work with varied and vibrant personalities in order to facilitate a team environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Tracks forecasting and measurement of Sales
  • Conducts periodic informational meetings as necessary
  • Customer relations
  • Damage control at problem accounts
  • Keeps Sales Team informed of Sales activities and developments
  • Will track, record and provide historical record of significant data
  • Evaluates and disseminates Sales Department input
  • Resolves customer complaints
  • Obtains new customer business
  • Maintains existing customer business
  • Develops customer relationships
  • Travels to visit customer accounts
  • Reports on account status
  • Helps to increase margins quoted
  • Promotes value added opportunities
  • Negotiates agreements to provide maximum benefit
  • Monitors tooling and production activities
  • Detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes and casting engineering
  • Spends time on the manufacturing floor observing production
  • Troubleshoots production problems with engineering and quality teams
  • Encourages creative performance which increases sales and profits
  • Keeps abreast of the status of our competitors
  • Maintains informational backgrounds on our customers
  • Contributes Sales Goal Planning to management
  • Adheres to, encourages and supports ethical behavior
  • Obtains customer feedback on our performance
  • Other duties as needed


Qualifications
:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Business, Management, Engineering or similar field required.
  • Master's degree a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Daily activities would be split evenly between a shop floor presence and working at a desk.

Experience:

  • At least three years' Sales experience.
  • At least some experience in manufacturing required.
  • Prefer engineering experience.

Skills:

  • Moderate computer skills required.
  • Engineering skills preferred.
  • Quality Assurance skills preferred.
  • Must be able to understand and learn the manufacturing process and the engineering of parts in order to act as a project manager for new parts and speak intelligently to customers.

Travel:

  • This position will transition into a primarily Outside Sales role following the initial training and orientation period. As such, travel will be a required part of the job but the amount will vary based on need.
