This role will grow the Nickel Cadmium business in North America for the Industrial Standby Market in the Central Region of the United States (Utility, Industrial, local O&G companies, UPS etc.) Execute this objective by working with and managing a group of manufacturer's representatives, direct-house accounts, conducting prescription seminars and meeting with new and existing customers. Ensuring present and future customers have the right products and services while identifying new markets and customer leads are a few critical functions of the role. This role has an applications engineer (insides sales) to support the business objectives. Also note: the home office may sit anywhere in the Central Region.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and create existing business and create new opportunities to meet or exceed our targets for both bookings and sales in the year. The focus will be on Pocket Plate.
  • Create, execute, and adjust each territory's growth strategies, which includes the appropriate use of reps and other channels (house accounts: VAR, reseller, service providers). Strategy and execution are to be reviewed formally at least twice yearly.
  • Manage rep performance through quarterly reviews to discuss results to date, actions, open projects and quotes, new customers, competition and quote hit rate.
  • Manage and share opportunities and open quote information through company-wide sharing tool (CRM)
  • Obtain from reps, copies of all their battery quotes, monitor and report their activity focusing on projects >100K.
  • Provide relevant monthly information about the territory/market through 801 process.
  • Ensure that each sales rep/OEM/service company is trained properly.
Requirements: A Bachelors’ Degree in business and/or equivalent experience is required and entails 50% of travel.
Preferred Competencies: At least 5+ years of experience in technical sales, competencies in building new business (new customers / new markets / new products). Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close. Track record in the B2B market, directly or using channels. Experience in Industrial DC systems.
