Solmax is currently hiring for a Maintenance Technician I for our Plant in Kingstree, SC.

• Schedule: M-F morning shift
• Pay: starting rate $20.00/h (DOE)
• Full Time- Direct Hire

Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to perform preventative maintenance inspections on various types of industrial machinery and to assist with installations, repairs, troubleshooting, and other maintenance as needed.

Essential Job Functions

· Perform PMs and inspections on various pieces of critical equipment, including gearboxes, motors, drive systems, pumps, blenders, vacuum receivers, heating elements, blowers, and other plastic processing equipment

· Be able to follow a PM schedule and stay on task to ensure all daily maintenance actions are completed

· Operate the following:

An oxy-acetylene torch, pipe threading machines, forklifts, scissor lifts, cranes

· Assistant Senior maintenance staff as needed

Other Job Functions

· Adhere to proper safety and housekeeping guidelines.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

· 2 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment with a preventive maintenance background.

· High School Diploma or GED.

· Able to perform basic multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction, plus possess knowledge of metric to standard conversions and fraction to decimal conversions.

· Has a working knowledge of preventative maintenance in an industrial facility

· Ability to frequently lift up to 70lbs.

· Must be able to work in temperatures exceeding 95 degrees, climb stairs and work at heights exceeding 20’

walks
