Sharp Packaging is actively hiring for a 2nd shift Industrial Mechanic! Hours for this role are Monday-Friday from 2:45PM-11:15PM with one weekend day every other weekend.

SUMMARY

Primary responsibilities include technical operations support in setup, maintenance, and operation of automatic packaging equipment. Mechanical troubleshooting skills are required to effectively support and assist in the maintenance and operation of automated packaging equipment as required. Maintains a cGMP production environment and standards throughout the production area(s). Adheres to workplace environmental, health and safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures while actively promoting and enforcing adherence. Essential Duties will require a close-knit integration with various departments including Operations and Quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.

· Operates packaging equipment in support of daily operations activities.

· Sets up various automated packaging equipment systems including removal of previous tooling, removal and replacement of covers and guarding for access of cleaning crew.

· Performs troubleshooting including sensors, setup and adjustment of online printing, barcode scanning, and Optical Character Recognition /Optical Character Verification vision equipment.

· Verify the Calibration status of measuring gauges including Temperature Controllers and related Thermocouples, Air and Vacuum gauges, and Timers.

· Performs all Preventative and On Demand Maintenance activities and appropriately documents all activities per Sharps procedures.

· Performs preventative maintenance work orders and logs the completion into Blue Mountain software.

· Logs data into process check sheets.

· Corresponds with team members daily and attends meetings when required.

· Helps train and develop Machine Operators.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:High school diploma and up to 4 years of automated packaging, industrial maintenance or electro-mechanical trade. A strong desire to learn new systems and expand individual knowledgebase is mandatory.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to troubleshoot issues under high demand situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
