True North Energy Solutions – HVAC/Refrigeration Technician

General Summary

HVAC/R Technician is responsible for maintaining all equipment at True North Energy Solutions customer locations. The HVAC/R Technician will work closely with all other Service Technicians, Service Manager/Dispatcher, Director of True North Operations and site personnel. Emphasis is placed on safety, consistency, teamwork, positive work attitude, excellent customer service and maintaining exceptional overall store and restaurant operating conditions. HVAC/R Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Service Manager.

Essential Functions of the Job

• 
  Installing, maintaining and repairing HVAC/Refrigeration Equipment.
• Inspect current HVAC and Refrigeration systems for effectiveness and safety.
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC and Refrigeration systems to increase longevity of the equipment.
• Conduct performance tests with specialized tools.
• Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC and Refrigeration systems.
• Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
• Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
• List of Equipment (including, but not limited to: RTU’s, condensers, evaporators, open air coolers, upright coolers/freezers, and ice machines.)
• Installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing related items (including, but not limited to Toilets, Sinks, Water Lines, Drain Lines, etc.)
• Maintain organized inventory in warehouse and on service truck.
• Maintain Service Vehicles (Keep Interior/Exterior Clean and Oil/Service On Time and up to date)
• Complete all jobs through maintenance service software (Ipad).

On-call Technicians (per assignment)

• Answer Emergency Phone Calls (Weekdays (Monday-Thursday) From 4:00pm to 7:30am, Weekends From 4:00pm Friday to 7:30am Monday)
• Complete all emergency jobs immediately. Non emergencies need to be relayed to Maintenance Supervisor or Assistant. Call Maintenance Supervisor with any questions/concerns.

Working Conditions

• Maintenance/Service working environment involves some exposure to conditions including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain/snow/ice/wind and extended exposure to the sun. Handling of petroleum products (including, but not limited to Gasoline, Diesel, Oil, Grease, etc.). Exposure to HVAC-R related chemicals (including, but not limited to Freon, Refrigerant, Coil Cleaner and Nitrogen). Possible exposure to mold found while cleaning ice machines. Operating machinery, hand tools, soldering torches, working on roof tops & in attics, climbing ladders, extended driving time and noise. Physical demands are moderate to heavy lifting/carrying at least 50 pounds, or more (with assistance).

Job Specifications

Education and Experience: No degree requirements. Any equivalent of training desired, which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. 2 years of experience desired.
