University of California San Francisco Remote

Under the direction of the HR Processing Supervisor, the HR Processing Analyst has the primary responsibility to organize, analyze, validate, and enter all Human Resources data transactions into the unified payroll database. Understands and applies human resources policies, rules, and the UCPath system data entry procedures. The HR Processing Analyst critically evaluates the information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts and researches inconsistencies in information. Interacts on a regular basis with HR Generalists and Managers. The HR Processing Analyst ensures accurate and timely data entry to meet various systems deadlines.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.


For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

UCSF HR Shared Services consists of multiple operational and transactional teams assisting staff, academic, and trainee populations across the organization. These teams partner closely with UCSF Campus Departments and the Health System, HR Talent Management and People Wellness, and the Office of Faculty and Academic Affairs (VPAA) to assist and deliver a comprehensive array of HR services designed to attract, develop and retain diverse workforce talent.

Required Qualifications

  • In lieu of Bachelor's degree, High School diploma or GED and 2-3 years of administrative experience can be considered equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Interpersonal skills. Service orientation. Active listening skills. Critical thinking skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize Verbal communication skills. Written communication skills. Organizational, judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to accurately type or word process at a minimum speed of 45 words per minute.
  • Working knowledge of many payroll processes, policies, and procedures; knowledge of organization-specific computer application programs.
  • Uses interpersonal skills and service orientation skills in interactions with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to organize work effectively and set priorities in a fast paced work environment.
  • Problem solving, problem identification and reasoning skills.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills.
  • Familiarity with web-based applications /CRM systems, preferable PeopleSoft or Salesforce or TPS, or CICS, Weblinks, Microsoft Excel or Word.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of organizational processes, procedures, and understands organizational rules and regulations.
  • 1-2 Years data entry experience.
