PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Human Resources Manager's responsibility is to provide effective professional leadership to the operation as concerns to associate relations. Also responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating policies, procedures, and programs for the following areas: associate/labor relations, training and development, worker's compensation, recruitment, wage and salary administration, benefit plan administration, associate services, human resources planning, equal employment, and affirmative action

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

Creates & leads in executing strategies which align with RPC and/or site-specific objectives. Participate as member of project teams supporting AEN and overall USC priorities.
Coaches and advises members of the Steering team and other site leaders. Serves as an advisor and confidant for the Plant Manager.
Partners with the Steering Team to create and implement strategies and programs which drive increased associate engagement.
Provides coaching and guidance to assist the Plant Manager with performance management and development for the leadership team based on talent placement and succession plans.
Supports all TPM Pillars as a Steering Team member, including strategies to keep associates engaged and educated on TPM. Responsible for People Pillar strategy and execution for the location. Participates in AM events.
Leads and develops T&E programs.
Leads in serious associate relations issues (investigations, disciplinary actions for cause, etc.).
Works with leaders on associate Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
Represents company with appropriate legal counsel in various legal proceedings (UC Claims, EEOC, etc.).
Ensures leaders understand the importance of and follow the Performance & Objectives process. Assists with feedback process and how to have conversations. Ensures timely completion of objective setting and performance reviews. Helps leaders ensure performance is properly documented within the review and objectives are written appropriately.
Leads the team in assessing talent and facilitating calibration sessions. Responsible for succession planning.
Partners with leaders for associate development opportunities. Identify and provide leadership training opportunities.
Requisition Management and Recruiting management - positions. Ensures onboarding process gets completed and orientation is scheduled in partnership with the hiring manager. Provides a positive associate experience for all new associates.
Prepares, manages, and administers annual Affirmative Action Plan (AAP). Responsible for overseeing recruitment for all open positions and associated activities, which also meet the annual AAP.
Reviews local compensation for hourly positions annually or as needed, identify concerns and partner with leadership to address.
Provides guidance and support on annual Compensation Planning process Support leadership in annual comp planning process.
Responsible for ensuring headcount meets budget and new headcount receives proper approval and provides updates.
Responsible for ensuring higher level payroll issues and manual check requests are completed when necessary.
Ensures data integrity through HRIS audits.
Answers basic benefits questions, directs associates for ASC assistance.
Ensures annual enrollment information is communicated to all location associates.
Manages Associate leave of absence requests.
Responsible for promoting union avoidance by educating leaders on avoidance.
Coaches department leaders in handling various disciplinary actions and attendance issues with associates. Participates in disciplinary or termination proceedings.
Consults with Regional HR Manager in making appropriate adjustments to complaints received from management and hourly associates, leads associate support team in addressing issues and concerns.
Facilitates exit interviews.
Responsible for managing WC Claims, including those requiring leaves of absence and advising the leaders and partnership with the EHS Specialist. Responsible for initial incident form submission and WC Leave Tracking.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related field strongly preferred. Masters degree desirable.
Sound knowledge of all phases of Human Resources, including employee relations gained through a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a generalist in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with high volume non-exempt recruiting
Strong organizational skills.
Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations.
Personal leadership skills.
Previous managerial experience preferred
Understanding of human resource processes and knowledge (i.e. Employment Law, Recruitment, Selection, and Retention, Associate Relations, Compensation).
Demonstrated ability to achieve results through influence
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to handle confidential information
Frequently required sitting, standing, walking and moving about the facility.
