Position Overview
The Human Resources Generalist proactively drives and supports the delivery of Human Resources services and solutions for Petsource and acts as a point of contact for employees and managers for employee relations situations, talent development, staffing needs, compensation management and policy guidance. Reporting to the Petsource Human Resources Business Partner, this role serves as an advisor to business leaders with respect to employment activities and aides in the compliance of company policies and procedures. The HR Generalist will drive a strong culture of proactive HR business partnering in the areas of employee relations, company culture, employee engagement, workforce planning, performance management, HR compliance, and more.

Job Responsibilities

Employee Relations & HR Compliance:
In support of strategic objectives, consults with leaders to resolve diverse business issues.
Provide expertise in conducting internal investigations and bring employment relation issues to resolution.
Resolves moderately complex issues related to the interpretation and application of HR programs, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
Provide consult to business leaders regarding performance management, disciplinary action and terminations.
Analyze and present risk factors to business leaders when taking employment actions. Ensure appropriate processes are followed and compliance requirements with local regulations are met.
Collaborate with HR Operations and HR Center of Excellence teams to ensure consistency and alignment in HR processes while bringing a continuous improvement mindset to the work.

HR Business Partnering

Provide comprehensive HR support to foster retention, drive consistency and enhance the employee experience being a part of the Scoular team. g. employee engagement, performance management, workforce planning, employee onboarding, change management, talent development, compliance and more.
Implements initiatives in partnership with division managers in support of the organization's strategic objectives.
Partners with managers and team members in career planning and development to grow and develop a motivated, trained, and engaged workforce to meet current and future business needs.
Demonstrate an understanding of business trends and translate to proactive solutions that help drive business initiatives forward.
Utilize reporting and data analytics to create visibility to current and historical trends with high degree of accuracy.
With guidance from HR Business Partner, work with business leaders on incentive planning and compensation analysis to drive a pay for performance culture.
Develop relationships with leaders and employees to facilitate and promote an environment that attracts and retains diverse talent.
Foster and champion Petsource culture and ensure an inclusive approach to employee engagement and recognition.

Other HR Projects and Initiatives

Collaboratively develop and execute other HR projects and initiatives as needed to support overall business strategies.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications

Comprehensive knowledge of broad human resources programs and processes and basic U.S. employment law.
College degree in business related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
4+ years of employee relations experience; 5+ years of progressive human resources experience.
Ability to respect confidentiality of employee information.
Strong customer service orientation and service leadership.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders and employees.
Ability to establish accurate metrics and use data effectively to analyze issues, anticipate trends and make decisions.
Strong conflict resolutions skills.
Demonstrated business acumen.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a remote team
Ability to work independently and proactively identify, research and solve problems.
Ability to travel is required, approximately 20%.
Ability to build relationship within and outside of HR, to collaborate effectively as a part of a larger team.
Excellent oral and written communications and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a manufacturing or production facility environment.
Post-secondary degree in human resources or related discipline.
PHR or SHRM professional designation.
